HQ'S 459 @ le Mer Dubai.

 style="border:none;width:130px;height:36px;padding:0px;" /></a> Looking for affordable and delicious food then head on over to HQ's 459 at the Le Mer in Dubai. Once the challenge of finding a parking spot was over come (we opted for valet parking) finding the restaurant was easy. The welcome was cordial and the seating outside over looks the beach separated with a pathway for pedestrians. Le Mer is a busy place and if one can take the crowd walking past the outside seating the rest is all wonderful. In addition to the palm trees with their twinkling lights, its  good place to people watch as you eat with a holiday feel about the place.

The service was reasonably prompt and polite. The staff knew their menu and the mocktails were extensive. The menu is had something for everybody. with a wide variety of dishes. We had the chicken wings with the blue cheese sauce for a starter. The sauce was more sour cream and less blue cheese and we had to ask for that to be remedied which was duly done. The chicken wings were delicious and one can be excused for ordering seconds. 

The grilled Jumbo prawns were simply amazing, and cooked to perfection. It might be helpful if the menu gave different choices for the sauce rather than only the chimichurri sauce; like a thai chili sauce etc. The lamb shank with a squash risotto was divine. The lamb came off the bone with ease and the risotto was delicious. The vegetables were well cooked and crunchy, the organic carrots were the best. 

The manager, Bianca, came over and asked about the food and was very helpful and friendly. She did seem passionate about the place and was very hands on in the operation. The most welcome sign was the price point of the restaurant, which proves that food does not have to be expensive to taste great. From what we had this quaint place at Le Mer out shines some of the five star food establishments in town at a quarter of the price. Most definitely worth a repeat visit, especially as the breakfast offerings look great.

We believe this is a jewel on the culinary scene and worth a visit. Excellent value for money and a wonderful food experience.
